Arts Alive on Lichtin Plaza

About Arts Alive

Arts Alive on Lichtin Plaza is a series of multi-disciplinary performing and visual arts festivals that highlight Lichtin Plaza and the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts.  These festivals have been designed to bring new forms of art to one of Raleigh's most beloved and well known performance venues, as well as to showcase the flexibility of Lichtin Plaza as a performance and festival venue that compliments the four interior theaters of the Progress Energy Center.

Arts Alive on Lichtin Plaza is a production of Artsplosure - The Raleigh Arts Festival, Inc.  Arts Alive on Lichtin Plaza events are supported by nine local corporations and the City of Raleigh.  Presenting sponsors include:  BB&T, Capitol Broadcasting Company, Highwoods Properties, Lichtin Corporation, The News & Observer, Preston Development Company, Progress Energy, RBC Centura, WakeMed, and The City of Raleigh.  Artsplosure receives operating support from the City of Raleigh based on the recommendation sof the Raleigh Arts Comission and the North Carolina Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Cultural Resources, and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes a great nation deserves great art.

The inaugural 2007-2008 Arts Alive season is comprised of four distinct festivals, each representing a different facet of the arts.  Each of these new festivals is unique in scope, but each seeks to further the common goal of the Arts Alive on Lichtin Plaza series.
