Directions & Parking

Arts Alive on Lichtin Plaza events take place on Lichtin Plaza and inside the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh.  Parking is available in several surface lots surrounding the Progress Energy Center, or in the large parking deck located between the Progress Energy Center and the new Raleigh Convention Center.  Entrances to the parking deck are located on both South and Lenoir Streets, near the intersections with Salisbury Street.

From I-40 / South Raleigh
From I-40, take exit 298-B. Turn right on South Saunders Street. Go 1.5 miles north on S. Saunders Street, becoming McDowell Street as you enter downtown. Turn right onto South Street.  A parking deck will be on your immediate left. The Progress Energy Center is in the second block ahead on the right.

From US-1 / Capital Blvd. / North Raleigh
Take US-1 South into Raleigh. US-1 becomes Capital Blvd. Stay on Capital Blvd., crossing over I-440 (the Beltline). After you cross I-440, go another 3.4 miles south. Capital Blvd. becomes Dawson Street as you enter downtown. Go 10 blocks south on Dawson Street (0.8 miles). Turn left onto South Street.  The Progress Energy Center is in the third block ahead on the right.

From US-70 / Glenwood Ave. / Northwest Raleigh
From Glenwood Avenue / US-70, follow the US-70 E. signs toward downtown Raleigh. US-70 travels along Glenwood Avenue, turns (right) onto Wade Avenue, then exits (right) onto Capital Blvd. heading south.  Capital Blvd. becomes Dawson Street as you enter downtown.  Go 10 blocks south on Dawson Street (0.8 miles).  Turn left onto South Street.  The Progress Energy Center is in the third block ahead on the right.

From US-64 Business / New Bern Ave. / Northeast Raleigh
Take US-64 Business West toward Raleigh. US-64 Business becomes New Bern Avenue. Follow New Bern Ave., crossing over I-440. After you cross I-440, go another 2.5 miles west. New Bern Ave. then becomes Edenton Street. Go approximately 1.2 miles on Edenton Street, and turn left onto Dawson Street.  From Dawson Street, turn left onto South Street.  The Progress Energy Center is in the third block ahead on the right.
